Construction Background:
Unlike the majority of architects, the partners each have extensive professional construction experience. We have first hand experience with the pricing, bidding and management process from the perspective of architects, owners and general contractors. We are proud of our ability to bring projects in on budget. Finally, our construction experience gives us an ability to communicate and interact well with contractors and builders. This background is invaluable when it comes time to design solutions that are easily buildable at an affordable price.
Teaching Experience:
Both partners teach architecture and design/build at Yestermorrow Design/Build School.
Public and Business Service:
The value of this public an business service to an architectural practice is a thorough understanding of how communities work, and how to get responsible, worthy projects done.
Bast has served on the town select board and additionally served on his planning commission, and is past president of the Vermont League of Cities and Towns. He is also a managing director of a tabletop products manufacturing company.
Rood has served on the Warren Select Board, the Warren School Board, the Warren Education fund, and is on the Board of Directors of the Yestermorrow Design/Build School. A particular pet project over the years has been the restoration of the Warren Town Dam on the XX River, with an accompanying private water power station.
