OPTIONS FOR BUILDING YOUR HOME

Our goal is to make it as easy and economical as possible for you to build a home. At least three options are available to you.

1.        Use Volk Construction, the Bast & Rood selected contractor.

An engineer by training, Randy Volk has lived in Hinesburg for more than 25 years, and his construction firm has a long track record of successful homes and businesses (including 3 expansions of Lantmans Supermarket in Hinesburg, originally an inn). Randy also serves on Hinesburg’s Board of Selectmen.

Randy’s wife Jenny owns Signature Kitchens, a company that offers kitchen design services in conjunction with Rice Lumber in Shelburne, Vermont.

Their latest personal building project is restoration of the historic Peck home in Hinesburg. The Pecks were a prominent farm family in the early 1900s and left a fund of money to benefit Hinesburg’s school system.

2.        Select a contractor of your choice or build yourself.

If you have your own preferred contractor, you are free to use  them as long as they are properly insured and conform to all pertinent Green Street permits and guidelines.

3.        Ask Bast & Rood Architects to be your General Contractor.

Rob and Mac have personally design/built over 20 homes and designed over 50 more, working with a number of contractors in western and central Vermont. A General Contractor fee will apply.
