DESIGN OPTIONS
There are multiple options available for creating a house design on your lot. Whichever option you choose, you can expect the following features that will appeal to homeowners of all ages:
Features for All:
• Outside private space is on south side of building – you can choose your own plantings, patio material, BBQ arrangement, furniture etc.
• All houses are fully sprinklered for fire protection and lower insurance rates. In addition there are municipal fire hydrants along the street.
• 2-car garage is under each house. Two extra cars for guests can be parked under protective roof of promenade.
• Road and sidewalk plowing and other services will be organized by the Community Association.
Features for Young Families:
• 3-4 bedrooms, 2-3 baths
• Outside private space is generally planned on south side of building – nice for play space.
• Pedestrian circulation among houses is vehicle free at promenade level.
Features for the Middle Years:
• Homes can be planned small, but allow for future expansion.
• Bedroom can be converted into home office.
• Green Street apartment building offers independent place for grandparent(s) or children.
Features for Later Years:
• Master bedroom available on main floor.
• Residential elevator can be easily added through predesigned vertical line of open space and extra closets.
• Sidewalks are ADA compliant, incorporate universal design.
FOUR WAYS TO DESIGN YOUR HOME
Choose the option that fits your needs
1. Site Specific Home Designs are available from Bast & Rood Architects. Buy a finished design from Bast & Rood Architects. Rob and Mac have created several designs to choose from. This will be your most affordable option. You will choose your kitchen interior and some finishes.
2. Customize a design from Bast & Rood Architects. Have something in mind that is not included in any existing design? We can figure out how to include it, still within the house size and your budget. A fee will apply depending on the scope of changes.
3. Commission a custom design (within the permitted footprint and size) by Bast & Rood Architects. Bast & Rood will charge 6% of the construction cost.
4. Hire your own architect for a custom design (within the permitted footprint and size). The cost for this option would be negotiated between you and your architect
