Green Street Homeowners Association
THE ORGANIZATION TO ENSURE SUSTAINABILITY
Homeowners Group: Decisions at Green Street are made by the Green Street Community Association (GSCA). Every residence will have an equal share membership. There will be twenty-three shares in total.
The legal documents are bylaws and a declaration of the GSCA. The documents were drafted by a local attorney with considerable real estate experience and are available upon request.
Building Standards: Green Street design standards, administered as per the bylaws, will address the following:
- Building footprints and lot line configurations, and what each homeowner may do for house finishes, landscaping, and energy efficient practices.
- Energy-efficiency standards and requirements
- Allowed heat/energy sources
Sustainable Living: The Green Street neighborhood specifically encourages clotheslines, food gardening, composting, owning chickens and other sustainable choices.
Shared Services: The document also creates a mechanism for self-governance. The community association makes decisions that affect all house owners in Green Street that are not otherwise covered by town or state regulations. Typical decisions include:
- Uses of the common land
- Uses for the community barn
- Street and sidewalk plowing
- Representatives to the town as needed
You are welcome to show the Green Street documents to your attorney or mortgage lender. Available upon request.
