BARN, COMMUNITY GARDENS AND WALKING PATH JUST STEPS AWAY
Community Barn and Community Gardens
In Phase 3 of Green Street construction, the historic Fortin Barn, presently about 300 feet uphill, will be moved west of Green Street and will be renovated as a common building available to the Green Street community. The building structure will placed on a new foundation with a full basement under the building.
The exact plan will be in the hands of the Homeowners Association but could include:
- Upstairs could have kitchen and dining area, and community function area.
- Downstairs could have storage of gardening tools, root cellar, additional storage for recreation equipment or a community tractor, space for some animals.
Community gardens will be laid out near the barn with access to watering.
Recreation Trails, River-edge Trees
A walking path around the edge of the Green Street 13-acre property will be a pleasant amenity. You can enjoy some fresh air, watch migrating birds, go for a gentle snow-shoe or ski, walk the dog or a grandchild, chat with a neighbor, or watch a sunset. The Town has asked that the river-edge retain some plantings to help keep the water clean and cool.
